This amazing coffee was formerly sold to brokers and smugglers from Uganda, and has been laboriously brought to fruition. Congo Nguvu, meaning “Power” in Swahili, is produced in Beni, a territory that is often in the news as pockets of conflict and terrorism. This lot was delayed due to armed attacks that led farmers to flee and seek refuge temporarily outside of Beni for weeks. They came back once security was restored and ensured safe delivery of this high quality coffee. For us here at Copa Vida, this is a incredibly meaningful coffee as it comes from the same area in which our Due North partners “Justice Rising” operates and works to build schools for the community. With notes of Demerara Sugar, Nectarine, and Pomegranate, we hope you get to savor the fruits that come from the genuine labor of the land and its farmers!
